The 2021 Wedding Dress Season is Here! Get Ready With These 6 Tips
Wedding dress season is here brides-to-be, so what’s your plan?
This post is full of essential tips that every bride needs to say YES to the dress without any drama or stress!
1. Start with a budget
Whether your budget is bottomless or you’re searching for the best discounted wedding dress near you, the good news is that there are plenty of options for every bride.
Before you pick up the phone to book appointments, establish your budget! If you’re on a budget, we are the store for you! We offer sample dresses which allows you to purchase top designer gowns for less. All gowns in store range between $200 to $1500!
2. How much time do you have?
Typically, it’s recommended to start shopping for a wedding dress 9-12 months ahead of the big day. If you’re having a dress customized, it can take anywhere from 6-10 months to be made when you factor in the alterations and fittings.
If you’re on a budget or in a time crunch, you can search all of our sample wedding dresses online. We refresh our sample inventory daily, giving you access to quality designs for less. Make an appointment with us to get the boutique experience, and be able to take your wedding dress home same day.
3. What’s your style?
It’s easy to show up to your appointment with a smile, but doing the right research beforehand will cut out any miscommunication.
Find dress inspiration on social media, and create a folder to save your favorite looks. This can include styles, materials, designers and accessories. Jot down a few keywords that sum up your vision. For example, “plunging neck, strapless and diamonds” are a few ideas. While you’re at it, don’t forget to make a list of questions to ask your consultant. When you arrive at your appointment with a vision and the research to back it up, it helps give your consultant a base to find exactly what you want.
4. Booking bridal appointments
You’ll need to book your wedding dress appointment at least 2 weeks in advance.
Some important factors to note when making an appointment…
- The who: Of course, you want your best babes with you to offer support while trying on wedding dresses. Inquire about the head count, as some places have a limit on how many peeps you can bring along.
- The what: Get specific with your dress. If you’re dead set on a particular style or designer, ask if the boutique or outlet carries it. If not, they might be able to order it before your appointment. This is also a good time to ask about sample sizes, such as whether plus size samples are available.
5. Be open minded
Be open to different styles and don’t be afraid to dare. Styles that you’re convinced won’t flatter your figure might actually prove otherwise. Go on girl- try that mermaid gown and show off those curves!
6. What to wear to your bridal appointment
Strapless bra? Spanx? Heels? Most gowns offer ample support so you don't have to bring a strapless bra. If you plan to wear spanx on your big day, we recommend bringing a pair. You are more than welcome to bring heels to your appointment but you don't have to. Nude underwear is always a safe bet when trying on gowns.
